On Thursday, February 12, Bliss Hippy will open for one of our favorite duos in the World, the Matchsellers, at the Public House Brewery in Rolla, MO. Bliss Hippy will play from 7 - 8, and the Matchsellers will take over at 8 until 10.
We met them last year at the International Folk Alliance meeting in Kansas City and their live performance blew us away. They stood out among a gathering of many of the best folk muscians in the world.
Their music is high-energy blue grass, with grittiness and blues mixed in, and a lot of first class musicianship. They play great originals and renditions of traditional tunes.
Though they are quite young (by Bliss Hippy standards) the duo has already accomplished a lot. They played with Ricky Skaggs, at the Kansas State Picking and Fiddling contest, and they've toured in Germany, the UK, the Czech Republic, and 21 U.S. states averaging 170 shows a year!
We are excited and honored to get to share a bill with such a duo, and we guarantee you will be greatly entertained and amazed if you come out to the Public House next Thursday night. (And you can enjoy a public house brew while you're at it :)
